We combine state-of-the-art secure facilities with world-class engineering to deliver dependable outcomes for thousands of satisfied customers experiencing data loss every year – all with a documented 96% success rate and guaranteed results or you pay nothing. DO NOT take a chance and rely on what shipping companies have become these days.įor more than a decade, Secure Data Recovery Services has been an industry leader in hard drive recovery, SSD recovery, and RAID data recovery. I would work with someone local even if more expensive. And why would you not WARN your potential customers of this happening? Overall, if I could rewind, I would never ever ever ship my hard drive anywhere. Yes, it‘s obvious that anyone runs a risk sending their package anywhere, but why would you work a company that has been experiencing more and more cases of theft. My wish for them is that they would have a disclaimer on their website regarding their shipping options. All they could do was file a claim with Fed Ex for $100.00 compensation and they tacked on $60 dollars for their ‘estimate’ of what my hard drive cost. Overall, the response from Secure Data Recovery was pretty deadpanned and 'procedural' with minimal words or feedback. In the end these companies could care less since they are covered legally in the fine print. ![]() The package had made it to their main Fed Ex Hub in Memphis Tennessee location, so apparently either someone working at Fed Ex stole my hard drive from the Memphis location, or they stole it at the Ohio facility. My package arrived in an empty and open box to the Fed Ex in Ohio. To make a long story short, they overnighted my hard drive ( from Fort Lauderdale, Florida) via Fed Ex with insurance. The most important thing to know is that the insurance they use through Fed Ex, means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, since Fed Ex only compensates up to 100 dollars for any lost or stolen package, with or without insurance. If your hard drive is lost (or STOLEN, like mine was) then third party insurance ‘might‘ lessen the blow financially. I made the huge mistake of accepting SECURE DATA RECOVERY‘s offer for overnight shipping, which they claimed to have ‘insured.‘ For anyone reading this, PLEASE, if you value your hard drive and priceless data, ALWAYS, take out THIRD PARTY INSURANCE in order to save your data if anything happens to your hard drive. DO NOT SEND YOUR HARDDRIVE TO THEM if you plan on relying on their shipping, which is basically relying on the awful company that FED EX is (rampant theft and lost packages with no liability). I hope to save anyone here who made the same mistake I did. READ THIS if you are mailing/shipping your hard drive to them. ![]() Toshiba does not control the terms of any agreement that you enter into with an Authorized Service Provider.Ĭ) TOSHIBA MAKES NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND/OR REPRESENTATIONS REGARDING THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE AUTHORIZED SERVICE PROVIDER, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY WARRANTY REGARDING THE QUALITY OR RELIABILITY OF THE AUTHORIZED SERVICE PROVIDER’S SERVICES, NON INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.ĭ) Your selection of any service provider, including any of the Authorized Service Providers listed above is at your own risk.Į) Toshiba assumes no liability for any loss or damages of any kind that relate to, arise out of or result from the performance of services by any of the Authorized Service Providers, including, but not limited to, any loss of data contained on a Toshiba hard drive.į) Actual conditions of data recovery services are subject to each Authorized Service Providers' web page instructions.SHIPPER BEWARE. ![]() A) If you use data recovery services from one of these providers listed above (“Authorized Service Provider”), Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation and its affiliates (collectively hereinafter referred to as "Toshiba") will not void any warranty associated with the disk drive you purchased from an authorized Toshiba reseller or distributor if you obtain written verification on the Authorized Service Provider’s letterhead, that it has performed data recovery or other services on your hard drive.ī) If you choose to use a non-Authorized Service Provider to perform data recovery or fix the hard drive then Toshiba's warranty may be void if the disk drive exhibits a defect attributable to misuse or tampering, improper handling or other causes as specified in Toshiba's warranty.
